Beginnings

All over the world, there are people doing things for the first time in their lives. Many, more often than not, never pause to think of the probable consequences or the chain reaction it may incite. Many go forward hoping for the best and prepared to meet the worst.

But how do you feel when you are at the beginning of a momentous occassion which could be the turning point in a person's life. I was not directly involved, but I was asked to pray for the first batch of students who would be coming to their first bible study. An explosive experiment, where they would coming in direct contact with the Living Word, truths and facts that question their motives and puposes, a book that would abolish any middle ground that most of us a recomfortable in, put everything in black and white. I try to imagine what might have gone through the minds of the people directly involved - the joy of seeing their dream take on shape, the greater dependence on the One who made all this possible, an unshakeable faith that a tremendous journey lies ahead, the burden of love and responsibilty that quashes any discouraging thoughts. To know beyond the shadow of a doubt, that this is what God has in mind for you, that He takes the steps and you just follow. Do you have the assurance that you follow in His steps?

In the steps of the One who created you, the One who loves you and the One who waits ever patiently for you.
